QMLP completed a UST replacement involving removal of a 90,000 Litre steel UST and replacement with a 50,000 Litre FRP UST including associated mechanical and electrical services in Hamilton, ON
The scope of work included the following:
- Supply and install a temporary 15,000 Litre AST system and connect to back-up generator system;
- Removal and disposal of an existing 90,000 Litre Steel UST, segregation and disposal of clean overburden and contaminated soils;
- Installation of a new 50,000 Litre double walled FRP UST. Installation of suction and return lines, remote fill, vent and transition sumps;
- Installation of piping from transition sump to pump room within building, replace and install new fuel oil pumps and boiler feed pumps, installation of a tank monitoring system and associated mechanical and electrical services;
- Restoration of service yard involving installation of a slab-on-grade concrete pad above the new UST and around the manholes and fittings and restoration of asphalt along the pipe trench;
- Commissioning the new fuel delivery system, provide TSSA inspection, train maintenance staff, and decommission temporary AST fuel delivery system.
